Merrily McKim Tuohey Event. Join us on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from noon to 4:00 for “My Personal Treasure” a lecture and trunk show by Merrily McKim Tuohey.
Merrily will present an introduction to, and brief history of, her grandmother, Ruby Short McKim . Ruby Short McKim was a well known quilt designer who’s red work patterns were featured in syndicated newspaper columns and magazines. Her book “One Hundred and One Patchwork Patterns” was published in 1931.
Merrily has re-issued her grandmother’s designs and following the program there will be a book sale and signing. $15 includes lecture, trunk show and afternoon snacks.

“Count On It”: Susan will be leading this block of the month calendar using the book “Count On It” by Nancy Halvorsen from Art To Heart. Class will be the first Thursday evening of each month 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
“Cotton Club”: Linda will be leading this lecture-only block of the month, meeting the first Saturday of each month at 9:00 am.
“Here’s My Heart”: Create these delightful pot holders on your serger. Class is Saturday, February 11th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Class fee is $25.00 includes kit.
“Coloring Book Bunny”: A vintage looking design taken from an old coloring book transformed into a hand embroidered bunny . Makes into a delightful Easter/Spring wall hanging. Get a good start on your project with Judy on Wednesday, February 22nd from 10:00 am. t0 noon. Class fee $20.00 plus supplies.
“Alto Table Topper”: Linda made this eight sided table topper in Spring prints, but you can select your own coordinates. Class is Saturday, February 25th from 10:00 to noon. Class fee is $25.00 plus pattern.
“Victorian Needle Book”: Use your computerized machines to create a vintage looking accessory. We will be using vintage stitches, a wing needle and candle wicking stitches. Kim will help you create in two hours what took our ancestors weeks to complete. Class is Tuesday, February 28th from 1:00 to 3:00. Class fee $25.00.
“One Block Pincushion”: Make this adorable pin cushion using just one quilt block.
Class is Tuesday, March 27th from 10:00 to noon. Class fee is $20.00 plus supplies. Instructor is Judy Ross.
U.F.O. Project Days: We are planning Friday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 24th as Unfinished Object days. Bring your machine and whatever project you have that is in the incomplete stage and join others who are working on their unfinished project too. This is not a class, but an opportunity to use our space to cut, sew, press or pin-baste your project for just $5.00. If you have questions we will be available to help out.
“All About Bags”: This will be a day focused on purses, handbags and totes. An all day affair with lots of activities planned including a bag style show. Date is Saturday, March 31st. More details to come.

“Know How” Class Serger:
We will cover the basics of threading and tension setting. Unravel the mysteries of the knobs and buttons. Discuss maintenance. 2 hour class on Tuesday, February 7th from 1:00 to 3:00. Class fee $25.00
“Beginning Embroidery”;
Learn about stabilizers, thread, hooping techniques, how to place designs correctly and how to manipulate the designs. Join Kim on Wednesday, February 8th from 10:00 to noon. Class fee $25.00
“Programming Class”:
If you own a computerized machine, this will help you combine stitches and program in words. Class is Thursday, February 16th from 10:00 to noon. Class fee $25.00

Susan’s Serger Club: The second Tuesday or the second Saturday of each month will be the time for Susan’s Serger Club. Join Kim and other serger buffs from 10:00-11:00am for free projects, “show and tell” and fun with friends. No need to pre-register, just come join the fun. $5.00 per session.
Susan’s Viking Club: Join Kim and other sewing friends for a fun and informative hour on the second Tuesday and second Saturday of each month from 11:00 to noon. You will receive free project instructions. Bring something for “show and tell”. No need to pre-register, just come join the fun. $5.00 per session.

A Quilter's Paradise and Attic Woods
|
Does your group of quilters need a place to sew for a couple of days? Our rooms are equipped with display walls, ironing boards, cutting tables, kitchen, and full restroom with clothes washer and dryer. You provide the meals or order out. Cost: $25 per night. For an overnight group, there must be a minimum of 5 people. Please call in advance. Deposit required. Saturdays are quickly spoken for, so call and reserve a date soon.
Attic Woods on the mezzanine and top floor of our store has a
great selection of unfinished wood furniture and finishing products .
All items are solid wood and ready to be finished. See our supply of finishes.
